Clowns Without Borders UK (CWB UK) uses laughter and play to support children’s psychological, emotional and cognitive health. We work in refugee camps, using evidence-based practice to share activities that hone children’s resilience and help them to overcome adversity and build their futures. There has never been more need for our work. Global trauma, restricted movement and reduced opportunities for play have affected every child in the world – at the very time, they need connection, friendship and laughter to cope.
We have shared performances and workshops with over 100,000 children in humanitarian settings.  Over 300 NGO workers have also taken part in our play-lead, Train-the-Trainer programmes. The world’s largest NGOs describe our work as “psycho-social first-aid” and recognise our “innovative approach which blends funds with psychological and humanitarian support, can reach children and help them heal faster.”

Our Board is the ultimate governance body for the charity, serving as stewards of its resources, and ultimately responsible for our strategy, operations and financial management.  Our board ensures we comply with our governing document, and charity law and pursue our objectives.  They are responsible for providing support, guidance and decisions to the CWB team, ensuring the effective and efficient administration of the organisation.
Trustees are elected for a 2-year term but with the opportunity to be re-elected.
